Miami Developers Pushing Boundaries

In response to shrinking development opportunities, developers in
Miami-Dade are looking to have the boundaries surrounding the Everglades
pushed back to allow for more high-density urban housing. Currently, the
land beyond the boundary is limited to only one structure every five
acres.

According to the AP, residents have mixed feelings on the matter - such a
change would allow locals to sell their land for higher prices, but the
further encroachment of urban developments would almost certainly change
the character of the area forever.
