Not only did two Miami homes managed to land themselves on Forbes´ 2004 list of the South´s most expensive houses currently on the mega-millions real estate market, but one of them managed to steal the coveted number one spot.

The top spot was granted to a $50 million estate located "on the appropriately named Star Island (home owners include Shaquille O´Neal and reportedly Gloria Estefan)." This Miami home has 13 bedrooms and "has been the setting for many glamorous events." Its multiple buildings feature a diverse mix of architectural styles, ranging from Asian to Mediterranean. The house´s more high tech features include a fingerprint scanner secured safe room and 10,000 bottle wine cellar and an "outdoor air conditioning unit, which creates a surrounding wall of mist." For those who enjoy simpler pleasures, this Miami home also offers a mosaic tile swimming pool and an amazing view of Biscayne Bay.

A Miami home also took the number four spot with an asking price of $32 million. This Mediterranean-style house and more than 2 acre estate is also located on Star Island and has accommodated Rony Seikaly and Shaquille O´Neal. The mansion comes with a guest house and has eight bedrooms, "a gym, outdoor tennis court, indoor racquetball court, pool and 250 feet of dock space."
