Miami real estate title insurance is one of several areas where fraudsters are succeeding in ripping off Florida residents and businesses. The Florida Department of Financial Services found that title insurance fraud was at the top of their list of the costliest or boldest fraud scams for the year.
In one example from a story in Inman News, a Miami real estate title insurance company was defrauded by three South Florida residents who allegedly stole $1.2 million dollars through a fictitious purchase of property. They then, ironically enough, funneled the money into a real piece of Miami property.
