Miami Real Estate Company Engaging in Discriminatory Practices?

A Miami real estate company is being sued by a Muslim woman living and working in the city of Orlando for discrimination. According to a story in the Orlando Sentinel, Housing Trust Management, Co. told Danine Hammond that she could not wear her head scarf while at work in her job as the office manager for an apartment complex owned by the Miami real estate company.

The Council on American-Islamic relations has become involved in Hammond's case against the Miami real estate company. The Florida Commission on Human Relations has found that there were grounds for her complaint, so she will be able to continue to pursue further action.
